Fritz family, originally spelt Fricz (changed name as evidenced in the 1754 Census of nobility), received title during the reign of Ferdinand III. It was granted in Vienna, 20th April 1640, as evidenced in the Széchényi National Library, Budapest, Hungary. The family owned extensive lands in Demend, Hungary. Family forename - von Dunayi.
