The Fritz Family story is one of resilience, perseverance and integrity over many centuries.
The Family was ennobled in 1640 by Emperor Ferdinand III. Its members fought against the Ottoman invasion of Europe, in 19th century revolutions, and in the two World Wars. The Family played an active role in shaping the banking system and steel industry in Hungary, the insurance industry in Italy, and the petroleum industry in Romania. On the Family’s vast estates in Hungary, new agricultural processes and crops, such as tobacco, were introduced. The Family also held leadership positions in communities and furthered democratic processes through political and diplomatic involvement.
The Second World War presented particularly difficult challenges. In 1961, Leslie Fritz migrated to Australia with his wife and two children and arrived in Sydney, Australia in February 1962. He set out to reestablish the Family in a new world and over the following decades he built a reputation of integrity, reliability and trust, and immersed himself in new ventures.
Since then, the Family has continued to build on this legacy. Each family member understands themselves to be a link in a chain which started a long time ago and hopefully will stretch far into the future. By building on its achievements, the Family has stayed together and prospered.
